I’m Déja and I love food. But, so far that hasn’t been a good thing. I’ve gained a ton of weight, way past what’s “recommended” by doctors. But here’s what really happened.
I was body shamed as a teen and for so long I had those voices in the back of my head telling me that my body wasn’t beautiful. So, I ate…and kept eating until I was unhappy enough to stop.
For years, I was trying to lose weight and for alllll the wrong reasons. I just wanted people to think my body was beautiful. Then, I just didn’t give a flying rats ass about what anyone else thought about my body. If you know my story, having FOPO (fear of others people’s opinions) is not foreign to me. Learn more here
Today, I’m on a new journey for me. Over the last couple of years, I’ve gained so many new habits that have allowed me to gear up for success this time around.
In this group, I’ll be sharing tons of resources such as habits, mindset, and foods that I’ve adapted over time. I’ll also be sharing my personal progress.
I’m hoping that this can be a support group for other Black women on this journey.

128g Kroger Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce @ Kroger
1/2 cup Kraft Shredded Fat Free Mozzarella @ Publix
Sweet Red Bell Peppers
1. Chop then sautée onions and peppers
2. Boil penne until soft
3. Warm chicken strips in pan with sautéed oniuons and peppers
4. Combine penne, chicken, onions, peppers, cheese, and sauce.
Sausage, Egg, + Cheese Bagel

Big Fat Protein Burrito

1. Warm chicken in pan and season to liking
2. Add jackfruit to pan to warm
3. Add cheese
4. Warm tortilla
5. Combine all ingredients in tortilla and fold into burrito!
